On Thursday(1/15) and Friday(1/16) each student share will their 10 facts from the CIA fact  book with the rest of his/her group.  The process for sharing will be to develop a generalization or generalizations based on the facts you collected.  You will be turning in your facts and generalizations.

GROUP ACTIVITY ON TRC

In groups, respond to the following question:  Do you think the TRC was a good idea for South Africa? Use ideas and information from the article to support your view.  In addition, cite one direct quote from the article.  Your group will present on 1/13, 1/14 and each member of the group needs to contribute.

If you had not finished the assignment by the outset of class, you must present on your own.

IMPORTANT CHANGE IN SOCIAL JUSTICE ESSAY

The 4th body paragraph must contain a good counter argument that supports the nomination of the candidate you are not supporting. In that same paragraph you must follow with a refutation of that counter argument that directly addresses its key points and promotes your candidate.

TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION ARTICLE AND QUESTIONS

Read the article, "Without Memory There is No Forgiveness.."  Before you begin, read the questions on the back of the article so you know what you are looking for.  Then answer the questions using complete sentences and specific information from the article.

Due Monday, January 12th  (You will be given class time to work on this assignment.)

The first draft of the Social Justice Hall of Fame essay is due on Thurs./Fri. (1/8, 1/9).  Bring to class a copy of the draft for self editing.

Don't forget to check the instruction sheet for requirements.

The final draft is due on Tues./Wed. (1/13,1/14).
